Child Protection Bureau stops forced marriage of a 13 years old girl in Pakpattan

Lahore, February 21, 2016 (PPI-OT): Rescue team of Child Protection Bureau while taking action stopped forced marriage of a 22 years old youth with a 13 years old girl in Pakpattan. According to details, Child Protection Bureau received an information on helpline 1121 by a woman Sughran that mother of her 13 years old granddaughter Kiran, forcibly married her with a 22 years old youth Fayyaz.

The woman appealed to Chairperson Child Protection Bureau Saba Sadiq to rescue the girl and take into her custody upon which Chairperson Saba Sadiq issued immediate orders for rescuing the girl. Rescue team of Child Protection Bureau Multan along with local police raided in area of Pakpattan and recovered the girl and taken into custody.

Moreover, FIR has been got registered by Child Protection Bureau with police station Dul Waryam Pakpattan. Giving details, Chairperson Child Protection Bureau Saba Sadiq said that Kiran is being shifted to Lahore where she will be provided full protection. She said that any information of highhandedness or violence against children can be given on helpline 1121 throughout the province.
