Concern expressed over continued house arrest of Gilani

Srinagar, March 31, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum patronised by the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has expressed serious concern over his continued illegal house arrest.

The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the repressive measures could not deter Syed Ali Gilani from the just and precious cause. He said that India could suppress, incarcerate and discriminate against Syed Ali Gilani but he would never surrender.

Castigating the authorities for their arrogant and wicked approach, he said that the puppet administration was hell bent to muzzle the sincere and genuine voice of suppressed Kashmiri people.

The spokesman said that Kashmir was occupied by India and, therefore, democracy and occupation could not co-exist. It is historical fact that tyranny, subjugation and control are temporary and have never succeeded in suppressing the freedom struggles, he maintained.
