BJP Withdraws Controversial Election Video Amid Accusations of Targeting Muslims

New Delhi, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has removed a controversial cartoon video from the social media platform ‘X’ after it was criticized for allegedly targeting Muslims amid ongoing elections. The video, which depicted opposition politicians planning to redirect affirmative action benefits from marginalized Hindu groups to Muslims, sparked significant backlash and prompted action from India’s election commission.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the election commission’s intervention came swiftly, labeling the post as “objectionable” and in violation of Indian laws that prohibit communal incitement during campaigning. This led to the removal of the video, which had originally featured caricatures of opposition leaders scheming in a manner that critics argued exploited religious divisions for electoral gain. The incident has raised concerns about the BJP’s campaign strategies and their impact on communal harmony in India.
