Quetta Prioritizes Industrial Development in Key Economic Zones

Quetta, In an effort to boost industrial growth, a crucial meeting chaired by Ali Hasan Zehri, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Industry and Trade, was convened to address challenges and strategic developments in the province’s industrial sector. The meeting focused on advancing various industrial estates and economic zones crucial to Balochistan’s economic development.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting included comprehensive briefings on the progress and impediments of entities such as the Directorate of Industries, the Bustan Special Economic Zone, and border markets, among others. Special Secretary of Industries, MD Ledafarid Ahmad Mohandhasan, and MD Jedda Waqqas Ahmed Lasi highlighted specific issues such as the slow progress at Hubbarj district and challenges facing the Gabbat Industrial Estate and Commercial Market on the Iran-Pakistan border. The discussion also covered the need for expedited funding and support to maintain momentum in these key areas.

Advisor Zehri emphasized the commitment of both federal and provincial governments to enhance the industrial capabilities of Balochistan. He advocated for immediate commencement of the advertised 50 MW power plant project, recognizing its potential to significantly aid industrialization in the region. Additionally, Zehri instructed that a summary of necessary actions be drafted and submitted through the Secretary of Industries to address all discussed issues promptly.
