Congress Leader Aiyar Calls for Dialogue with Pakistan, Citing Risks of Avoidance

New Delhi, Veteran Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has emphasized the importance of dialogue with Pakistan, warning that ignoring diplomatic engagement could be perilous for India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Aiyar, in a recently viral interview, called on the Indian government to engage in talks with Pakistan, acknowledging the country as a respected and sovereign nation with significant nuclear capabilities.

He criticized the current Indian administration for not working towards resolving tensions and urged that maintaining respect, even in harsh conversations, is crucial. Aiyar highlighted the potential for increased tensions if dialogue is avoided, and suggested that respect and communication could shift Pakistan’s stance on nuclear considerations.
