Construction of flyovers on Shahrah-e-Pakistan underway: Administrator

Karachi, December 06, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that construction four flyovers at various intersections of Shahrah-e-Pakistan underway and all necessary measures had been taken to finish this work within given time. This important corridor which connects the city with the Superhighway would be made signal free after which traffic flow on this road would improve and the traffic jam problems on important junctions would also be solved.

He said this while visiting the sites of flyovers at four different intersections of Shahrah-e- Pakistan. He was accompanied by Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon, Project Directors, concerned Engineers and other officers.

Administrator Karachi during his visit at Waterpump, Aisha Manzil and Dakhana Chowrangi talked with the concerned staff and engineers and inquired about the pace of work on these flyovers. He also directed them to ensure good standard in the construction work so that these projects could prove durable and the citizens could avail better facilities for a long time.

Administrator Karachi said these projects were very important for the people and the city hence these must be completed on time. Any negligence or carelessness in the development works would not be tolerated.

In a briefing Administrator Karachi was informed that construction work on all the projects of Shahrah-e-Pakistan going on speedily and the traffic diversion plan was implemented accordingly.

Administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed on this occasion said that these four flyovers were started to make Shahrah-e-Pakistan signal free to facilitate people. He said that this central corridor connects inner roads of various localities surrounding Shahrah- e-Pakistan. Complaints of traffic jam were reported in past therefore it was necessary to resolve this problem and improve traffic flow.

He said that completion of Corridor-V will facilitate the traffic of Marton Road, Lasbella, PIB Colony, Nazimabad, Azizabad, Ancholi, Karimabad and Super highway. Administrator Karachi directed that all resources for construction of four flyovers at Shahrah-e- Pakistan were being utilized which will help completing the projects on time.
