CPI-M Vows to Restore Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir in Election Manifesto

Srinagar, The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) has pledged to restore statehood to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to conduct assembly elections immediately in the region, as part of its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the CPI-M emphasized the urgency of defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies, committing to a concerted effort to form a secular government in India. The party’s manifesto outlines a clear stance on separating religion from politics and state affairs, alongside advocating for legal measures against hate speech and crimes, and the repeal of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Further outlining its political strategy, the CPI-M expressed its dedication to abolishing draconian laws and reinforcing the autonomy and integrity of independent institutions to safeguard democratic rights and freedoms in India.
