CRPF Head Constable Dies by Suicide in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada

Raipur: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) head constable, identified as Vipin Chandra, died by suicide at the 195th battalion headquarters in Dantewada district, Chhattisgarh, using his service weapon.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred within the troubled region where the CRPF has been heavily deployed to combat the Naxalite insurgency. The Naxalites, active in several Indian states, have long fought for political rights, a separate homeland, and independence from what they perceive as Indian hegemony.

Following the incident, Chandra’s colleagues quickly transported him to the Dantewada district hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival. The circumstances leading to the act remain under investigation by local authorities.
