CRPF Officer Killed in Ambush in Manipur, Three Injured

Imphal: An attack in Manipur has resulted in the death of Ajay Kumar Jha, a 43-year-old member of India’s Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and injuries to three others, including a Sub-Inspector from the Jiribam Police Station.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred during an ambush on a joint patrol unit of the CRPF’s 20th Battalion and state police in the Jiribam area on Sunday. The area has seen a recent uptick in violence, including significant clashes between the Kuki and Meitei communities, which led to the torching of around 70 homes and police outposts in June.
