Currency Exchange Rates Show Marginal Fluctuations in Pakistan

Karachi: Currency exchange rates in Pakistan experienced slight fluctuations over two consecutive days, with minor changes recorded in the buying and selling rates of major currencies.

According to a statement by Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, the buying and selling rates for the US dollar on January 15, 2025, were 279.11 and 280.67, respectively. The euro was at 287.08 for buying and 289.64 for selling, while the British pound stood at 340.75 for buying and 344.06 for selling. The Japanese yen’s rates were 1.75 for buying and 1.80 for selling, and the UAE dirham was at 75.92 for buying and 76.41 for selling. The Saudi riyal was recorded at 74.22 for buying and 74.65 for selling. Interbank rates were noted at 278.77 for buying and 278.97 for selling.

On January 16, 2025, the exchange rates showed slight increases. The US dollar buying rate rose to 279.37 and the selling rate to 280.94. The euro saw an increase to 287.94 for buying and 289.84 for selling. The British pound’s buying rate moved to 341.08, with the selling rate at 344.61. The Japanese yen adjusted to 1.77 for buying and 1.81 for selling. The UAE dirham’s rates shifted to 76.02 for buying and 76.50 for selling, while the Saudi riyal was at 74.30 for buying and 74.75 for selling. Interbank rates were slightly adjusted to 278.86 for buying and 279.06 for selling.

The ongoing adjustments in currency exchange rates reflect the dynamic nature of the foreign exchange market in Pakistan. The Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan continues to monitor these fluctuations closely.
