Dalit Sub-Inspector Succumbs to Injuries After Suicide Attempt in Warangal

Warangal, Sriramula Srinivas, a Dalit Sub-Inspector from Aswaraopet, has died following a suicide attempt last week, which he reportedly committed due to harassment from his superiors.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Srinivas had been critically ill in a private hospital since his suicide attempt. The reasons cited for his drastic action involved severe harassment at his workplace. In response to his death, significant police forces were stationed at Srinivas’ residence in Narakkapet village, preventing any opposition parties or Dalit leaders from entering the area. The family of the deceased is currently awaiting the return of his body to perform the final rites.

Srinivas, who hailed from Narakkapet village in Nekkonda Mandal, Warangal district, had been transferred to Aswaraopet police station last year from Manugur.
