Decade-Long School Construction Delays Plague Ganderbal Education System

Srinagar: The Government High School in Waliwar, Ganderbal district, continues to face severe challenges due to an unfinished construction project that has been ongoing for 12 years, leading to unsafe and inadequate educational facilities.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protracted construction has jeopardized the safety and education quality for students, with the community expressing deep dissatisfaction over unfulfilled governmental promises. Local residents and school staff have reported numerous appeals to authorities for intervention, which have remained largely unaddressed.

Teachers at the school highlighted the dire conditions under which they are forced to work, lacking basic amenities that are crucial for effective teaching and learning. The community is urgently calling for immediate action to complete the school’s construction, stressing the need for a safe and conducive learning environment.
