Sialkot: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif today declared that the nation fully supports the armed forces in thwarting any adversarial schemes against the country, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective efforts in overcoming national challenges.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, speaking to journalists in Sialkot, Minister Asif reflected on the events of May 9 last year, noting the public’s witness to conspiracy and violence. He criticized the internal divisions and the negative political tactics within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), highlighting the cancellation of a PTI public gathering by its founder, which Asif attributed to anticipated lack of support.
The Defence Minister also spoke on the role of parliamentarians and the electoral process, asserting that true tests of leadership come through elections. He stressed the necessity for internal resolve to alter the nation’s destiny, calling for a redirection from divisive politics to concerted national efforts.
