DFP pays tributes to Sheikh Aziz

Srinagar, August 03 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party in a meeting held in Srinagar with its Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, in chair thoroughly discussed the current political situation of the territory. The meeting was especially convened to pay tributes to the martyred senior APHC leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz.

The participants of the meeting said that the name of Sheikh Abdul Aziz would always be written in golden words in the history of freedom struggle. They said that he and his associates, who laid down their lives for the Kashmir cause in 2008 uprising, would never be forgotten. The best way to pay tributes to the martyrs is to continue the liberation struggle without feeling tired, the participants of the meeting maintained.

They said that it was now the responsibility of common Kashmiris, in general, and the leaders, in particular, to play their role in taking the ongoing liberation movement to its logical conclusion.

It is to mention here that Sheikh Aziz was shot dead by Indian troops on 11th August, 2008, while he was leading a procession from Srinagar to the Line of Control against the economic blockade of the Valley by Hindu extremists of Jammu.
