India hell bent to change demography of IOK: Gilani

Srinagar, August 03 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that India is following a long-term project to change the demographic complexion of the territory.

In a statement issued in Srinagar, the veteran leader termed the proposed regularization of 20 migrant colonies in Jammu a deep-rooted conspiracy of the puppet authorities. He said that as a part of this conspiracy non-state subjects were being provided lodgings in the territory and pro-India parties for the lust of power were extending their full support to New Delhi.

Syed Ali Gilani demanded release of all illegally detained Kashmiris including Hurriyet leaders, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai and Mir Hafeezullah before Eid-ul-Fitr.

He said that under the international law, these leaders were political prisoners and there was no justification for initiating criminal cases against them and sentencing them to death or life imprisonment.

Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, addressing a meeting of his party, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, in Srinagar, today, paid glowing tributes to the martyred senior APHC leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz. He said that the Kashmiris would continue the mission of their martyrs till complete success.

Sheikh Aziz was shot dead by Indian troops on 11th August, 2008, while he was leading a procession from Srinagar to the Line of Control against the economic blockade of the Valley by Hindu extremists of Jammu.

On the other hand, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one more Kashmiri youth in Tangdhar area of Kupwara during continued military operation. A trooper was also killed in an attack in the same area. The troops have martyred at least thirteen youth in different areas of the district during the past six days.

One Indian trooper was killed and six others were injured in an explosion inside Chushul Garrison in Ladakh.
