ECNEC approves nine projects worth over Rs318bln

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council has approved nine projects worth over 318 billion rupees.

The approval was granted in today’s meeting of the ECNEC that was held in Islamabad with Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar in the chair.

It considered and approved Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Security Support Project at a total cost of 25,098.220 million rupees.

The project has been conceived to address the climate vulnerabilities, improve the food security and livelihood of rural farm households in the most flood-damaged districts of the KP province.

The Council approved another project titled Sindh School Rehabilitation Project under Flood Restoration Program at a total cost of 86,080.50 million rupees.

Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Projects Education and Health components were also approved by the ECNEC with a total cost of 32,834.80 million rupees and 24, 224.921 million rupees respectively.

Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme costing 16,801.23 million rupees, Women Inclusive Finance Project worth 31413.047 million rupees, Thar Coal Railway Connectivity amounting 53,726.925 million, Peshawar Northern Bypass Project of 27,051.680 million rupees and Sindh Barrage Improvement Project Phase two with a total cost of 74, 618.340 was also approved by the Council after consideration.
