Federal Cabinet Greenlights Negotiations for ML-1 Railway Project Upgrade

Islamabad: The Federal Cabinet has approved the commencement of negotiations for the first phase of the ML-1 railway project upgrade, aiming to enhance the collaboration between Chinese and Pakistan Railways.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The negotiations will focus on the Financial Commitment Agreement necessary for the project’s progression. The cabinet also stipulated that the final agreement must be presented for approval once negotiations conclude.

In addition to the railway project, Prime Minister Sharif briefed the cabinet on his recent visit to Quetta, discussing enhancements in law enforcement capacities and ongoing efforts to combat terrorism. He praised the Balochistan Government for its initiatives aimed at integrating Baloch youth into the national framework and promoting their development and prosperity.
