Islamabad: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, in collaboration with the Government of Japan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan, has inaugurated newly constructed model police stations across the merged districts of Bajaur, Kurram, Mohmand, North Waziristan, and Orakzai. This initiative marks the successful culmination of a project funded by the Government of Japan and executed by UNDP, aiming to enhance policing services in these regions.
According to Embassy of Japan In Pakistan, the model police stations are part of UNDP Pakistan’s flagship Rule of Law Programme. They are equipped with various facilities, including modern working spaces, reception areas, gender-responsive desks, community meeting halls, and residential facilities for police officers. These stations aim to improve service delivery to the communities, with specific features like separate living quarters for women police officers and security posts.

The Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, H.E. WADA Mitsuhiro, highlighted the project’s role in enhancing police services through the KP Rule of Law Roadmap, ensuring a gender-sensitive approach to achieve long-term peace and stability.
