FO Urges India to Refrain from Baseless Rhetoric Against Pakistan

Islamabad: The Foreign Office has urged India to refrain from baseless rhetoric against Pakistan and focus on growing extremism and religiously motivated terrorism, particularly state-facilitated Islamophobia within its own territory. At the weekly news briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi strongly rejected the allegations made by the Indian Army Chief against Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, Andrabi emphasized that Pakistan’s unparalleled sacrifices against terrorism are internationally recognized. He criticized the continued clich©d, habitual, and delusional Indian rhetoric as a regrettable attempt to exploit the issue of terrorism for narrow political gains. He highlighted that Indian state-sponsored terrorism is well-documented and referred to the arrest of Indian serving officer Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Andrabi urged India to observe civilized inter-state norms and to refrain from making irresponsible allegations that have the potential to further increase tensions in an already volatile and nuclearized environment. He also condemned the conviction of prominent Kashmiri political leaders Asiya Andrabi and her two associates, describing it as a misuse of draconian laws to silence legitimate political voices in IIOJK.

He pointed out that Asiya Andrabi had spent several years in incarceration for peacefully advocating the fundamental rights and freedom of the Kashmiri people. Her conviction reflects a broader pattern of intimidation faced by the genuine Kashmiri leadership. Andrabi reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle for self-determination as enshrined in the UN resolutions.

When asked about Iran-US tensions, the spokesperson noted that Pakistan is closely monitoring developments related to the situation in Iran. He reiterated the importance of Iran as a neighboring country and an important member of the international community. Andrabi expressed hope for peace and stability in Iran and affirmed Pakistan’s support for peaceful resolution efforts.

Regarding the recent US decision to suspend immigrant visa processing for Pakistan and seventy-four other countries, Andrabi expressed hope that the United States would soon resume the process. He noted that Pakistan views the suspension as part of an internal review.
