Fourth IPSG Meeting Focuses on Recovery in Pakistan’s Flood-Affected Areas

Islamabad, The Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr. Ahad Khan Cheema, presided over the fourth meeting of the International Partners Support Group (IPSG) on June 4, 2024, in Islamabad. The meeting aimed to bolster the implementation of the 4RF framework, which is designed to facilitate recovery in areas of Pakistan devastated by recent floods.

According to United Nations Development Programme, the IPSG meeting brought together various international partners committed to assisting Pakistan in its recovery efforts. The 4RF (Four-tier Recovery Framework) is central to these efforts, focusing on immediate relief, short-term recovery, medium-term rehabilitation, and long-term reconstruction and development in the flood-affected regions.

The discussions during the meeting centered on assessing the progress made under the 4RF and identifying any gaps in its implementation. The group also explored strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the recovery processes and ensure that the assistance provided aligns with the specific needs of the impacted communities.

This meeting underscores the continued commitment of international partners to support Pakistan through its challenging recovery phase, aiming to build resilience against future disasters.
