FPCCI Forges International Ties at FoodAg 2025

Karachi: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with international partners during the FoodAg 2025 event in Karachi, signaling a potential influx of trade and investment into Pakistan’s food and agriculture sectors. FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh emphasized the country’s growing appeal as an investment destination given its liberal policies and competitive energy tariffs.

The event was inaugurated by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal, and featured notable attendees such as Qatar’s Al Reyada Chairman Sheikh Ahmad Bin Thani Bin Faisal Al-Thani, FPCCI Senior Vice President Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) officials Faiz Ahmad Chadhar and Shehryar Taj. Mr. Magoon highlighted the international confidence in Pakistan’s economy, noting the presence of delegations from Italy, Vietnam, the UK, and Scotland as evidence of the nation’s improving investment climate.

Several high-profile meetings facilitated by FPCCI underscored the event’s significance. Discussions with an Italian delegation focused on Pakistan’s consumer market and investment incentives. The Vietnamese delegation, including representatives from the Vietnam Entrepreneurs Forum and VinFast, explored opportunities in food trade and potential collaborations in the electric vehicle sector.

A significant outcome of the event was the signing of MoUs between Pakistani and British/Scottish companies. This was facilitated by the Pak-UK and Ireland Business Council of FPCCI and witnessed by FPCCI Vice Presidents Qurat-ul-Ain and Zaki Aijaz, along with other dignitaries.

FoodAg 2025, organized by TDAP in collaboration with FPCCI and other stakeholders, has attracted thousands of participants from over 80 countries to focus on various sectors including food, agriculture, livestock, and fisheries. The exhibition aims to foster international partnerships and will continue until November 27, 2025.
