Funeral for Pakistani Pilgrims Held at Yazd Airport Following Bus Accident

Yazd: A funeral for 28 Pakistani pilgrims, who perished in a bus accident, was held today at Yazd airport. The ceremony saw the participation of both Iranian and Pakistani officials.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the funeral was attended by Ayatullah Naseri, the representative of the Iranian Supreme Leader in Yazd, Imam Juma of Yazd, and the Governor of Yazd. The Ambassador of Pakistan in Tehran, Mudassir Tipu, along with officials from the Embassy of Pakistan, also paid their respects. The 28 deceased and 15 injured pilgrims, who have since been discharged from the hospital, were repatriated to Pakistan aboard a special plane dispatched from Islamabad under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Ambassador Tipu expressed gratitude towards the Yazd Governor for the support extended by the Iranian government in facilitating the swift and respectful repatriation of the victims and the injured.
