Government Implements Reduced Speed Limits for Fuel Conservation

Islamabad: The Government has announced a reduction in speed limits across national highways and motorways as part of efforts to conserve fuel.

According to Radio Pakistan, new directives have been issued that lower the speed limit for cars and Light Transport Vehicles on motorways from 120 kilometers per hour to 100 kilometers per hour. Similarly, the speed limit for Passenger Service Vehicles and Heavy Transport Vehicles on motorways has been reduced from 110 kilometers per hour to 90 kilometers per hour.

On national highways, the speed limit for cars and Light Transport Vehicles has been decreased from 100 kilometers per hour to 80 kilometers per hour. Furthermore, Passenger Service Vehicles and Heavy Transport Vehicles will now adhere to a speed limit of 65 kilometers per hour, down from the previous 80 kilometers per hour.
