Government is planning for legislation to punish the water theft: Sharjeel Inam Memon

Karachi, May 28, 2015 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that government is planning for legislation to punish the water theft and directed the authorities concern to take action against those involved in this crime. He directed this to authorities in a meeting held on Thursday at his office with the authorities of the Karachi water and sewerage board and other local government authorities to review the crisis of water.

The Minister said that government decided to declare the water theft as crime and legislate for the water theft both imprisonment and fine and warned the elements involved in water theft to discontent illegal connection or ready to face both punishment. He directed the authorities not to spare such elements and take action according to law. He also said that government will table the law in Sindh Assembly in coming session to punish the water theft.
