Karachi: Sultan Ali Allana, Chairman of Habib Bank Limited (HBL), has called for a strategic overhaul of Pakistan’s agriculture sector, emphasizing its critical role in the country’s economic stability and growth. Speaking at the Pakistan Business Council’s ‘Dialogue on the Economy 2025,’ Allana highlighted the importance of agriculture as a foundation for national stability and food security.
Allana underscored that the success of agricultural policies could lead not only to the protection of this vital economic sector but also to the creation of a more resilient and prosperous Pakistan. He stressed that the slogan ‘Beyond Banking, Sowing Change’ should evolve into a comprehensive strategy, promoting agricultural policy alignment, investment, and community engagement.
HBL is actively pursuing this vision through initiatives that connect farmers with essential resources across the agriculture value chain. These efforts include access to agronomy services, mechanization, warehousing, advisory, and market connections, aiming to improve yields and promote sustainable farming practices.
