Hina meets Afghan Foreign Minister Rassoul

Islamabad, September 26, 2012 (PPI-OT): Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar met the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Mr. Zalmay Rassoul on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session this morning.

Foreign Minister Khar underlined the importance of peace and stability in Afghanistan, and reiterated Pakistan’s full support for an Afghan-owned, Afghan-driven, and Afghan-led reconciliation process.

The two Foreign Ministers reviewed progress on the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA) and expressed the commitment of their respective governments to fully implement the agreement. They also discussed the issue of cross-border infiltration and resultant shelling, and the importance of working closely to effectively address border management issues.
