IG Punjab Inspects Security Arrangements for Ashura Processions in Lahore

Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, conducted a thorough inspection of the main mourning procession route from Nisar Haveli to Mochi Gate, reviewing security measures in place for the upcoming Ashura observance.

According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar, along with senior officers including Additional IG Special Branch Zulfiqar Hameed and CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, met with Shia community leaders to discuss the arrangements. The community expressed satisfaction with the security measures, which include over 200,000 police personnel deployed across Punjab. Dr. Anwar emphasized the intelligence-based operations being conducted to ensure peace and safety during the Muharram observances.
