Pakistan Moves to Digitize Disability Certificates to Enhance Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities

Islamabad: The Federal Secretary for Human Rights, Allah Dino Khowaja, chaired a high-level meeting focused on digitizing the disability certificate issuance mechanism for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), aiming to improve process efficiency and accessibility.

According to Ministry of Human Rights, the meeting gathered stakeholders from various sectors including the Ministry of National Health Services, PIMS, Polyclinic, and the Chairman of the Medical Assessment Board, Dr. Faridullah Zimri.

The discussed changes involve developing an online application and tracking system, transitioning to digital certificates, and integrating with NADRA’s database to ensure seamless verification. This initiative is expected to reduce delays, enhance certificate accessibility, and uphold the dignity and rights of PWDs through technological empowerment.
