IG Punjab issued a notification to all RPos and Dpos for making more effective security arrangements

Lahore, May 26, 2019 (PPI-OT): IG Punjab captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan said that all DPOs should visit the fields by themselves and improve security arrangements and patrolling of sensitive worship places, important buildings. He further directed to check and keep video recording of passengers coming to Punjab in busses.

He further directed to keep strict vigilance on buses having passengers coming to Punjab from other provinces and also archive the record of documents of these passengers. These views were expressed by Inspector General Police Punjab captain retired Arif Nawaz Khan in a notification to all RPos CPOs and Dpos regarding ensuring full-fledged security arrangements.

IG Punjab directed to senior police officers that the process of checking should be tightened near exit and entrance of interprovincial and inter-district points especially check posts on rivers and also ensure that no dubious person or vehicle should be allowed to enter into Punjab whereas DPOs of Bhakar, Mianwali and Attock to start the process of video recording of passengers entering into their districts.

He directed to all RPOs to ensure that all data of passengers entering into their regions should be made the part of the record. He added that the record of the movement of passengers should be saved so that police may trace the wanted person in time of need. IG Punjab said that it is the responsibility of CCPO Lahore to ensure video recording of passengers who enter into Lahore whereas a pertinent place for video recording of passengers should be selected so that traffic flow may not be disturbed and the issue of traffic jam due to video recording on high ways may be overcome. IG Punjab ordered all DPOs to submit list of places of recording points to operations branch at central police office Lahore till Monday.
