Imran Khan’s appeal: Pakistani court seeks government’s response over appeal

Pakistan’s parliament is due to be dissolved this Wednesday – ahead of elections that will not include the country’s most popular politician, Imran Khan. The country has been in political turmoil since former Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted in a no-confidence vote last year. That was followed by an investigation into corruption allegations against him — which culminated in a conviction on Sunday. His lawyers are now appealing the verdict.
