India non-serious about Kashmir settlement: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, June 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that India has never shown any seriousness for settlement of the Kashmir dispute. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing Juma congregation at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today, said that the holding of talks with New Delhi would be a futile exercise unless the ground situation in Kashmir was improved, black laws repealed, troops sent back to the barracks and political prisoners released unconditionally.

The Mirwaiz called for facilitating the Kashmiris intending to travel across the Line of Control through Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service.

The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani inaugurated a blood bank named after him at Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Hyderpora office in Srinagar. Over 200 youth donated blood on the occasion.

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front leaders, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi and Noor Ahmad Kalwal and APHC leader Zafar Akbar Butt addressing public gatherings in Gandarbal and Shopian areas reiterated the Kashmiris’ pledge that sacrifices of the martyrs would not be allowed to go waste. Later, big anti-India and pro-freedom processions were taken out in the areas.

APHC leaders, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Yasmeen Raja in their separate statements called for inclusion of the Kashmiris in the Pak-India dialogue process.

An Indian trooper ended his life by shooting himself with his service weapon at his Hajjar Kotli camp in Jammu. In another incident, a member of Indian Army-sponsored so-called Village Defence Committee committed suicide in Budhal area of Rajouri. These incidents raised the number of such deaths among the Indian troops and police personnel in the occupied territory to 275 since January 2007.
