India Recruits SPOs to Suppress Dissent in IIOJK

Srinagar: Indian authorities are actively recruiting Special Police Officers (SPOs) from 22 villages across the occupied regions of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Rajouri and Poonch districts, as part of efforts to curb dissent against Indian rule.

According to Kashmir Media Service, local police are pressuring residents to serve as informers and monitor pro-freedom activities within the community. This recruitment is seen as a direct measure to suppress the strong pro-independence sentiments prevalent throughout the region.
