Indian Forces Arrest Youth, Conduct Searches in Baramulla, Kashmir

Srinagar, In a series of intensified security measures, Indian forces conducted cordon and search operations (CASOs) in Baramulla district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of a local youth and separate military activities in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a CASO in the Uri area of Baramulla, Indian troops detained a youth identified as Farooq Ahmed. The forces alleged the recovery of a pistol, magazines, and ammunition from Ahmed during the operation. The details of the charges or evidence leading to his arrest remain unclear.

In concurrent operation, Indian troops and paramilitary personnel initiated another search in the Nowpora Sopore area on Thursday evening. The specifics of this operation, including its outcome or any further detentions, have not been disclosed.

Additionally, the region witnessed a road accident in Torna Uri area of Baramulla district, which resulted in the death of an Indian army man and injuries to three others on the same day.

These incidents highlight the ongoing tension and frequent military operations in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, contributing to the heightened security landscape in the region.
