Raipur, In recent operations, Indian troops have killed six individuals in two separate incidents in the states of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, amid ongoing efforts to combat Naxalite insurgencies in these areas. The operations targeted members of the Naxal group.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, a joint operation involving Indian army personnel, the Bastar Fighters Cobra Battalion, and the Central Reserve Police Force resulted in the deaths of four individuals in Gangalur. Bijapur SP Jitendra Kumar Yadav reported the engagement, asserting the individuals were members of the Naxal group, a Maoist insurgent faction operating in the region.
Similarly, in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district, Indian forces eliminated two alleged Maoists, identified as Maoist leader DVCM Sajanti, also known as Kranti, and Maoist Raghu, alias Sher Singh ACM. Authorities stated that both had significant bounties on their heads Rs 29 lakh for Sajanti and Rs 14 lakh for Raghu highlighting their purported roles within the insurgent group. Raghu was reportedly sought by police across three states for his involvement in Maoist activities.
These incidents underscore the continued violence and conflict stemming from the long-standing Naxalite insurgency in central and eastern India, as security forces intensify their crackdown on Maoist insurgents, who have been engaged in a decades-long struggle against the Indian government.
