Indian Policeman Fatally Injured by Accidental Discharge of Weapon in Srinagar

Srinagar, A tragic incident occurred at Zewan in Srinagar, Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, where an Indian policeman died after his service weapon accidentally discharged. The accident has highlighted concerns regarding the handling and safety of firearms by law enforcement personnel in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the policeman, identified as Head Constable Bashir Ahmad, sustained critical injuries when his rifle accidentally went off. Officials reported that Ahmad was immediately transported to a local hospital following the incident, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The sudden death of Constable Ahmad has prompted a review of safety protocols within the police force, as authorities seek to prevent such incidents in the future.
