International women’s day is day to give tribute to inspiring ladies: minister

Islamabad, March 07, 2014 (PPI-OT): On the International Women’s day Minister of State, Ms. Saira Afzal Tarar paid tribute to all the women who are contributing towards the progress of the country. Discussing on the theme “Inspiring Change” of this year’s International Women’s Day, Ms. Tarar said that women were shining in every field and this was the high time to engage more women in policy making and pro women legislations.

She said that it was an honour for her that she was representing women of Pakistan in the Parliament. Today we need to take a step forward and pledge with ourselves that we will groom our young girls with the same passion and commitment so that they become the inspiring changes for the society and for Pakistan” she stated.

She said that the government of Pakistan expressed faith in fundamental human rights in the self-respect and worth of human persons. The right to live without fear of violence is the basic human right for all people including women and girls. Right to seek equal justice without discrimination is the basic human right.

She said it was our moral and political duty to up hold these rights. This stage is an opportunity for whole of our nation to join hands in the cause that embraces all humanity-Empowering women is not only a goal itself. Rather it is condition for building better life for everyone. She further said women were the most important segments of our society. They are the real architect of our society.
