Karachi: The Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) has allocated gas to the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd. (SNGP) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) at a ratio of 65:35 from the Iran-Pakistan gas pipelines through which 750 mmcfd gas would be imported from Iran by Dec., 2014.
According to Alfalah Securities Limited, the allocation made by the ECC, SNGP would get an allocation of 471 mmcfd gas while SSGC would be allocated with a supply of 254 mmcfd which would then be supplied to efficient power plants and the leftover 25 mmcfd would be kept for the compressor’s utilization. The allocation of gas to SNGP and SSGC would allow them to increase their pipelines network and would also enable them to increase gas supply to power plants which would result in higher electricity production.
