Islamabad: In a significant operation over the past 24 hours, Islamabad Police have detained 24 individuals from various parts of the city, confiscating drugs, weapons, and ammunition. This operation is part of a renewed push to eradicate criminal activities in the capital, as directed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation included multiple teams that conducted targeted raids leading to significant arrests and seizures. Among those apprehended were individuals involved in drug trafficking, illegal alcohol distribution, unauthorized weapons possession, and other criminal offenses. The police recovered over a kilogram of hashish, numerous bottles of liquor, several firearms, and a significant quantity of heroin among other contraband items.
The police’s proactive measures have also focused on nabbing proclaimed offenders and absconders, with 10 such individuals arrested in this latest sweep. DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza has emphasized the commitment to public safety, instructing officers to intensify efforts against all forms of criminal activity. The public has been encouraged to contribute to these efforts by reporting any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” app.
