Jammu: Demonstrations erupted across the Jammu region of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with locals advocating for political and educational rights. The protests emphasized the demand for the restoration of statehood, removed five years ago, and the establishment of educational facilities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) spearheaded a major rally in Jammu. Led by YRS President Rajinder Singh, participants marched to Vikram Chowk, voicing their demands through slogans and calls for action. The demonstration significantly disrupted traffic, hinting at possible further actions if demands are not met by the Modi government.
In Udhampur, another segment of the community, including students, staged a large protest demanding the establishment of a government degree college in Moungri. Protesters, who submitted a memorandum to the local Tehsildar, highlighted the urgent need for higher education facilities in the area, particularly to support female students who face discontinuation of their studies due to the absence of nearby institutions.
