Karachi Mayor Inaugurates Flooring and Road Carpeting Projects in Machhi Miani Market

Karachi, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab inaugurated the CC flooring and road carpeting works in Machhi Miani Market and its surrounding areas, emphasizing the People’s Party’s commitment to solving the city’s problems. He noted that critics would continue to criticize, but the party’s focus is on “work and only work.”

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab mentioned that the manifesto for the upcoming elections centered on service to the people. He highlighted that the old city area is a hallmark of Karachi and that the streets there are being paved at a cost of 40 million rupees. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent officials, including Mayor Karachi Representative for Political Affairs Karamullah Waqasi and other local leaders from the Pakistan Peoples Party and South District.

The mayor referred to the paving of streets in the same area two and a half years ago with the construction of Bilqis Edhi Park, which provided convenience to residents. He reiterated that the construction and development of Karachi align with the People’s Party’s vision for the city and that the provision of municipal services will be improved and sustained in every area.

Mayor Wahab urged the chairmen of other towns to collaborate in the broader interest of the city to address the common man’s problems and solve them. He also addressed various political issues, criticizing the PTI for its perceived confused stance on state matters. He condemned their narrative, emphasizing the role of the police in foiling terrorist attacks and commended law enforcement agencies for their resilience against terrorism.

In response to questions about past tragedies in Karachi, the mayor criticized the MQM for its role in events like the Baldia factory fire and the increase in target killings and extortion during their period. He mentioned efforts to combat the water mafia and the ongoing water supply projects in the Hub Dam scheme, which are expected to show progress within a year.

The mayor also announced an upcoming project in Malir, worth two billion rupees, that is expected to start soon.
