Karachi, December 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Orangi Town Project received go ahead signal from KMC Administrator Rauf Akhter Farooqui for issuance of challans amounting to Rs170million (approx) for recovery of outstanding dues on account of ground rent and occupancy value from PTCL, K-Electric, Mominabad and Iqbal Market Police Station, DMC West, 30 private marriage lawns and other parties.
In a meeting held on Thursday in the KMC office at M.A Jinnah Road, Administrator Karachi directed the director of Orangi Town Project to speed up recovery campaign so that the revenue thus collected in these areas could be spent on their development works as well as for solving the problems of citizens.
Administrator Rauf Akhter Farooqui on this occasion said it was imperative to bring improvement in the recovery position as only then the KMC would be able to provide better municipal facilities to citizens. He said all such organizations and individuals against which payment of KMC dues was pending must be issued with notices immediately and legal action be taken in case the dues were not recovered in time.
Earlier while given a briefing Muhammad Rizwan Khan, the project director Orangi Town Project said in order to achieve the recovery target the challans amounting to Rs170million (approx) were issued with the approval of Administrator Karachi and the notices for their payment were sent to the concerned officers of these organizations.
He also gave details of the amount outstanding to the PTCL, K-Electric, Mominabad and Iqbal Market Police Stations, Health Department, DMC West, marriage lawns and others, adding that more challans would be sent in few days to the private parties and individuals in the Orangi Town Project who had not paid their dues. Administrator Karachi said the officers deputed on recovery works would have all kinds of support from KMC.
