Karachi officials convene to boost industrial growth

Karachi, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori chaired a high-level meeting of the Sindh Industrial Liaison Committee (SILC) at Governor House to discuss enhancing investment and addressing challenges in the industrial sector. The meeting saw key stakeholders, including Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Trade Development Authority head Zubair Motiwala, and various industrial association representatives, deliberate on fostering industrial development and solving sector-specific problems.

According to Sindh Governor House, the discussion covered a range of issues from investment opportunities to ongoing problems within industries and potential solutions. The projects of the Sindh Industrial and Financial Corporation (SIFC) were also a focus, aiming to generate employment across various sections of the province. Governor Tesori announced plans to form a task force to spearhead these initiatives and hinted at future strategies to facilitate rapid industrial expansion.

Governor Tesori, in a subsequent media interaction, outlined several commitments, including expediting the issuance of necessary NOCs within a month and writing to the Sindh government to allocate land for new industries at a controlled price. He also expressed a keen interest in attracting foreign investments, particularly from Saudi Arabia, to fuel the province’s industrial ambitions.
