Karachi: In response to rising complaints about fraud during its recruitment process, the Sindh Police Department, led by IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, has intensified its efforts to eliminate cheating and ensure a fair selection procedure. This comes as the department plans its largest recruitment drive, aiming to fill approximately 25,000 positions across various fields and ranks.
According to Sindh Police, a high-level meeting was convened to address these issues, featuring top police officials including Additional IG Operations and DIGs from multiple branches and districts. The meeting, which also included participants via video link from Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, and SSP Shaheed Benazirabad, discussed immediate actions against those exploiting job seekers. IG Memon emphasized the necessity of harsh penalties for the perpetrators of these recruitment scams, noting that around 90 individuals involved in such fraudulent activities have been identified and are being pursued by the police.
The IG highlighted the commitment of the Sindh government and the police department to conducting a transparent, impartial, and merit-based recruitment process. He assured that no corruption or disruption of the process would be tolerated, underscoring the importance of safeguarding the integrity of police hiring practices. Additionally, Memon advised potential candidates to prepare for a rigorous and thorough examination process, signaling the high standards expected in upcoming recruitments.
