Kashmiri Pandits’ delegation meets Mirwaiz in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 13, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, a delegation of ‘Kashmiri Pandits Return and Rehabilitation Forum’ called on the Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq at his residence, today.

The Kashmiri Pandit delegation that met the Mirwaiz comprised Sanjay Reshi, Kamal Chaudhary, Kishen Langoo, Kuldeep Ji and Ramesh Kichloo. Hurriyet leader Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam was also present in the meeting.

During the meeting, they held discussion over the dignified return of displaced Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley and the issues associated with it.

The Mirwaiz told the delegation that Hurriyet forum had always believed that Kashmiri Pandits were an integral part of Kashmiri society and Kashmiri people stand for their return to Kashmir and desire to see them once again becoming part of the Kashmiri society like they were in the past.

The delegation members informed the Mirwaiz that Kashmiri Pandits too were desirous of returning to the Valley and wanted to hold consultations with Kashmiri Muslims so that a way to their dignified return to Kashmir is found where once again they become a respectable part of Kashmiri society and start living together amid peace and brotherhood.

Meanwhile, Hurriyet leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing a party meeting in Kulgam said that resolution of Kashmir dispute was imperative for establishing long lasting peace in South Asia. He appealed to the United Nations to play effective role in resolving the conflict according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

He said that Kashmir was never a border dispute between Pakistan and India but was an issue of right to self-determination’ and future pertaining to 2.5 million Kashmiris.
