Kashmiris to continue struggle till success: APHC leaders

Srinagar, January 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference leaders, Zafar Akbar Butt and Javed Ahmad Mir, have reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the ongoing liberation movement till complete success.Zafar Akbar Butt and Javed Ahmad Mir during their visit to several areas of Handwara and Kupwara paid glowing tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs who laid down their lives for the Kashmir cause.

The APHC leaders paid homage to three youth who were martyred by Indian troops in Sopore recently and buried at Rafiabad by the troops at their own.

The local people expressed their anguish before the APHC leaders and said that it seemed that it was a fake encounter that’s why the troops didn’t hand over the bodies of the martyred youth to their heirs. They demanded a high-level probe through an international body and appealed the world human rights organizations to take a serious note of the Rafiabad fake encounter.

The APHC leaders also remembered Handwara massacre, which took place on January 25, 1990, when the troops of BSF opened fire on a peaceful protest demonstration heading towards Handwara Chowk resulting in the killing of 25 innocent Kashmiris. They expressed concern over the fact that despite passage of over 23 years culprits behind the massacre were roaming freely and the victims continued to wait for justice.

The APHC leaders said that people of Kashmir had given countless sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and they would take their struggle to its logical conclusion at all costs.

Meanwhile, APHC leaders visited the family of a journalist, Raja Mohi-u-din and Akash Amin in Kupwara and condoled with them on the demise of their father, Abdul Rehman Butt, who had passed away recently.
