Kashmiris to continue struggle till success: Sheikh Mateen

Islamabad, December 19, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Information Secretary of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, has said that Kashmiris have never accepted India’s illegal occupation of their land and will continue their struggle till securing their birth right to self-determination. Sheikh Abdul Mateen in a statement issued in Islamabad said that India would never succeed in suppressing the Kashmiris’ voice through use of brute force.

He deplored that the Modi-led Indian communal government on August 5 this year scrapped the special status of Kashmir and divided it into two union territories. He said that since then the Indian government had imposed military siege and communications blockade in the territory.

He said that one million Indian soldiers had been committing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. He said that educational institutions were closed, patients could not go to hospitals and there was severe shortage of essential items in the territory.

He pointed out that from 1947 till now, India had martyred thousands of Kashmiri people, subjected thousands to enforced disappearance and still thousands including Hurriyat leaders and activists had been languishing in different jails and torture centres.

Sheikh Abdul Mateen said that voices against Indian brutalities in the occupied territory were also being raised inside India. He said that despite the Indian tyranny, the morale of Kashmiris was high and they were determined to take their liberation movement to its logical conclusion.
