Quetta Braces for Extreme Heat and Dust Storms

Quetta, Residents of North-East and South-West districts of Balochistan are advised to prepare for extreme heat and dust storms, as forecasted by the Balochistan Meteorological Center. The weather alert highlights potentially hazardous conditions including very hot temperatures and strong winds that could impair visibility and elevate health risks over the next several days.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, areas including Sabi, Naseerabad, Jhal Magsi, Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Kech, Washak, Chagai, and Panjgur will experience above-normal temperatures and dusty conditions. Health officials caution against prolonged exposure to the sun due to the increased risk of heat-related illnesses. Visibility may also decrease in the plains during the afternoon hours due to dust storms, further complicating travel and outdoor activities.

The meteorological report also anticipates continued dry conditions, with the highest recent temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius in Sibi, 48 in Turbat, and slightly cooler but still elevated temperatures across other districts. The public is urged to stay informed about the weather conditions and take necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of the heat and dust.
