Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Commits to Speedy Compensation for Baran Dam Landowners

Peshawar, Pakhtun Yar Khan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering, has committed to ensuring prompt compensation for the Mamandkhel tribe whose land was acquired for the Baran Dam project. The provincial government’s pledge comes amid longstanding grievances over delayed payments.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Khan affirmed the government’s responsibility towards the Mamandkhel tribe during a meeting at his residence in Mira Khel with Malik Mir Shamd Khan, the tribal leader. The dialogue highlighted ongoing challenges and the tribe’s protests and jirga efforts aimed at securing their compensation.

Minister Khan reiterated the provincial government’s manifesto to provide facilities to the people at their doorstep and emphasized that compensating the landowners is a priority. He expressed a personal connection with the Mamandkhel tribe, promising that their rights to compensation would be respected and that the government would actively work to address their concerns swiftly.
