Maroof Afzal lauds performance of Capital Development Authority’s cricket team in Patterns Trophy Grade-II Cricket Tournament

Islamabad, April 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Maroof Afzal has lauded the performance of CDA Cricket Team in Patterns Trophy Grade-II Cricket Tournament. He said that the Authority would utilize all its resources for the promotion of sports and recreational facilities in the Federal Capital.

While addressing the ceremony, arranged in honour of CDA Cricket team here at CDA Headquarters on Wednesday, Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal said that team’s performance in the Patterns Trophy Grade-II Cricket Tournament was exemplary.

He said that the Authority is taking effective measures for upgradation of different sports in order to improve the performance of players. He said that the Authority is also taking measures for arrangement of tournaments of different sports to ensure maximum participation of youth in healthy activities. He said that all out efforts would be made to provide opportunities to youngsters of the Capital City in different sports.

On this occasion Member Administration, Amir Ali Ahmad, Secretary General CDA Mazdoor Union (CBA), Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin and Director General Sports and Culture, Asif Javed Shahjehan were also present.

Director General Sports and Culture, Asif Javed Shahjehan apprised of the Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal about the recent performance of CDA Cricket Team. He said that CDA Cricket Team has qualified for the final in Grade-II Cricket Tournament.

The winning CDA Cricket team comprised of Zakaullah, Team Manager, Sheraz Khan, Team Coach, Naveed Malik, Muaeed Ahmad Sheikh, Sohail Aftab, Sohail Khan, Muzammil Nizam, Ali Sarfaraz, Sohail Ahmad, Suleman Haider, Fezan Riaz, Shoaib Khaliq, Raja Muhammad Faheem, Kamran Hussain, Yasir Ishfaq, Azam Khan, Muhammad Irfan and Tauseef Satti. Director General Sports and Culture thanked Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal, Member Administration, Amir Ali Ahmad for their encouragement and pledged that performance of all sports would be improved.
