Mehbooba Mufti Accuses BJP of Manipulating Electoral Process in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Mehbooba Mufti, leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of utilizing its governmental power to hinder her party and the National Conference (NC) from effectively campaigning in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mufti detailed how the BJP is allegedly promoting and financially supporting proxy parties in the region, influencing electoral procedures including the recent rescheduling of the Rajouri-Poonch election. She claimed that such actions are intended to secure votes for these proxies under the threat of reprising turmoil akin to historical conflicts.

Furthermore, Mufti highlighted instances where her movement and that of NC rallies were restricted, notably in Baramulla and Tral, suggesting these were deliberate tactics to facilitate BJP’s proxy candidates.
